Top Second Lead Syndrome in Korean Dramas

Everyone knows about the second lead syndrome in Korean drama, of course all of us will be gone through the second lead syndrome in any of the Korean dramas. While main lead gets the girl in the drama, second lead will be in pain but he'll get the love from the viewers. I'll share my list of second leads which I have gone through the second lead syndrome.

 

Yoon Ji-hoo in Boys Over Flowers

 

Yoon Ji-hoo(Kim Hyun-joong) my first crush in Korean drama. He was the person, which every girl needs. Such a gentle, caring and loving person. Boys Over Flowers is the story of 4 rich boys named F4. Goo Joon Pyo is the team leader of F4. Goo Joon Pyo  and Yoon Ji-hoo fall in love with Geum Jan-di (Koo Hye-sun) a poor girl from the same school. Jan-di chooses Joon Pyo instead of Ji-hoo. Both of them were good together, but I feel Ji-hoo as the best pair for her. Ji-hoo is the top second lead syndrome in Korean dramas.

 

Yang Do-Hyeok in Nevertheless

 

As all second lead characters Do-Hyeok (Chae Jong Hyeop) is also a lovable and character who is in love the female lead. Nevertheless is a story two university students Park Jae-eon(Song Kang) and Yu Na-Bi (Han So Hee) who fall in love. Park Jae-eon hates to be in a serious relationship, but loves to flirt with women. Do-Hyeok is Na-Bi's childhood who is popular and runs a cooking channel in YouTube. Do-Hyeok has a one side love for Na-Bi. But Na-Bi falls for Jae-eon.

Kim Yoon-sung in Love In The Moonlight

 

Kim Yoon-sung is another one in the second lead syndrome. Love In The Moonlight is a story happens in a palace that shows the political issues. Also the love between a crown prince(Park Bo-gum) and an eunuch(Kim Yoo-jung) who is actually a women Hong Ra-on. Yoon-sung also fall in love with her. It's clear from the starting that Ra-on ends up with the crown prince, but yet Yoon-sung continue to love her. 

In Kook-Doo in Strong Woman Do Bong-soon

 

 

Strong Woman Do Bong-soon is a full package of romance, comedy, action, thriller, fantasy. As all Korean dramas this one too had love triangle. Bong-soon (Park Bo-young) was in love with her childhood friend In Kook-Doo (Ji Soo). Later Bong-soon knows that Kook-Doo has a girlfriend. Then she falls in love with Ahn Min-hyuk(Park Hyun Sik). But later Kook-Doo realizes that he had feelings for Bong-soon. 

 

Han Seo Joon in True Beauty

True Beauty is a story based on the popular webtoon. Lim Joo-kyung (Moon Ga-young) transfers from school due to the bullying occurred due to her ugly face. She gets a new life in her new school by hiding her face using makeup. Lee Su-ho (Cha Eun- woo) and Han Seo-joon (Hwang In-youp) are handsome and popular guys in the school, both were once friends but now enemies. Both the guys fall for Lim Joo-kyung. But Lim Joo-kyung falls for Suho. Seo Jun is one of the top second lead syndrome in Korean dramas.

Baek Hyung in Extraordinary You

Extraordinary You is a drama about a comic book "Secret" where all characters are controlled by the author. Baek Hyung is rude and arrogant to Eun Dan-oh (Kim Hye-yoon) but he is engaged to her due to his family issue. There a handsome character Ha-ru(Rowoon) enters the story, but he is an extra and no one is aware of his existence. Dan-oh falls in love with Ha-ru.
